About this resource

‘Our world’ is a free online bilingual digital magazine full of topical articles and activities aligned to the new Curriculum for Wales. The main focus of the resource is to give parents and teachers a single online destination with regular new content to use as a springboard for learning at school or at home. The magazine is thematic, aligned to the new curriculum in Wales, and will stimulate and inspire children in both upper primary and lower secondary school age groups to engage with current topics that cover local, national, and international affairs. This resource has been designed by teachers and curriculum experts across Wales and with the support of Welsh Government.

With a range of articles already available, 3 new articles are published each term providing a support base for parents and teachers to use or expand with their own teaching and learning methods and hyper-local contexts.

Each issue of Our world includes;

• A main themed article with a local, national, and international strand that always has a Wales significance context or link
• 9 - 12 stimuli materials which encourage more in-depth exploration and interactivity that weave together facts, ideas, and creativity.
• Parent and teacher’s guidance notes to help teachers in their planning and parents in supporting learning from home
• Exemplar curriculum mapping notes

All articles stay on the website for future reference so you can revisit and reuse the content as often as you like.
